Since I discovered TED, I see a lot of presentations they provide whenever I have time. TED has great variety of presentations over many topics includes leadership. I found “Everyday leadership” by Drew Dudley is quite unique and useful for my process of learning of good leadership. So I would like to share with you! His presentation really means a lot to me because it made interesting point of how people can take leadership in everyday life. Since I started to learning leadership in our class, I was thinking that leadership might be something beyond me, something that really hard to achieve, and something that only people who have great skills and strength can achieve. However, after I watch this presentation, I changed my mind that good leadership can happen not only at the edge or with special people like Shackelton, but also in our everyday lives and with ourselves. Studying great leadership through looking at successful leaders of course helped me to gain knowledge and sense of good leaderships. Although, we should not forget everyone has an opportunity to become good leader or has chance to gain great leadership skill in a way that make someone’s life happier and better. Therefore, I realized that making sure to connect what we learn and our own life/experience which we always do in Ken’s class, is necessary and important step to learn leadership. Have you ever experienced “lollipop moment” in your life?
Hi Moe,
返信削除Great video clip!!! This was really fun and something I want to share with the class because making leadership personal like this and knowing that we can be showing leadership and creating lollipop moments on a daily basis is very important.
Thanks too for your vision statement, and I absolutely agree with what you say about the importance of passion.
Going forward, please reference the book more than you have been so I can see that you are reading it (unless the reading is a problem because of your eyes).
